Protecting your privacy is important to us. We want you to understand the types of information we collect and how we use it.
We provide a broad range of banking, investment and insurance products and we collect and use information to help us understand your needs, and to provide you with financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible.

This Privacy Policy applies only to our individual customers who obtain financial products or services from us primarily for personal, family or household purposes. The examples in this statement are for illustration only and are not a complete description of our information practices.

This Privacy Policy serves as a standard for all our employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information.

Protection of Your Information
We are committed to the security of your personal and financial information. We consider the information we have about you to be confidential, including the fact that you are a customer of Surrey Bank & Trust or its subsidiaries. We restrict access to information about you to those employees and authorized agents who need to know that information.
All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment, and we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

The Information We Collect
We collect certain nonpublic personal information about you in the process of providing you with a financial product or service. “Nonpublic personal information” is information about you that is not available from public sources.

         Security number, annual income, financial assets, etc.)
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates and other parties (such as
        your account balance, overdraft history and payment history)

         your credit history) or from other parties or sources, such as public databases
  • Information we receive as a result of verifying customer information
  • Information collected from our Online Banking system (such as information you
         provide to us and information needed to manage your online banking sessions)

We limit the collection of nonpublic personal information to what we need to conduct our business, to provide superior service, and to offer you products, services and opportunities we think would be useful.

Within Our Corporate Family
We are permitted under law to share certain types of information about you with companies related to us by common control or ownership(“affiliates”), including information about our experiences or transactions with you or your account.

You may tell us not to share application information and credit-related information, such as:

  • Information you have given us as part of an application (such as annual income,
         financial assets, etc.)
  • Information obtained from a consumer report or a credit bureau
  • Information obtained from others regarding employment, credit, or other
         relationships you may have with them

We may continue to share other information, as permitted by law, including certain identifying information, such as name, address and telephone numbers.

To Nonaffiliated Third Parties
We do not disclose nonpublic, personal information about you and your accounts to third parties, except as required or permitted under law. For example, we are permitted or required to disclose information about you to process your transactions, to maintain or service your accounts, to report our experiences to credit bureaus, to protect against fraud or loss, and to respond to a subpoena or court order.

In addition, we may share information with:

  • Financial service providers (such as third parties that assist us in servicing your loan)
  • Non-financial companies (such as companies that perform a service for us, i.e.,      check printing or statement preparation)
  • Financial Institutions with whom we have a joint marketing agreement (account      numbers are not shared under such agreements)
  • Others as permitted by law

We may disclose to such non-affiliated third parties any information that we collect, as described above. We carefully select the nonaffiliated third parties with which we do business. When we disclose your information to our service providers or under a joint marketing agreement, the company’s right to use and disclose the information we provide is limited by law or contract.

Your Privacy Choices
You have choices as to how we use your information, as well as how we contact you for marketing purposes.

  • You can tell us not to share credit related and application information with our      affiliates.
  • You can tell us not to share information with our affiliates for marketing purposes.
  • You can tell us not to contact you for marketing purposes.

When two or more customers jointly obtain a financial product or service from us, we will treat a request not to share eligibility information made by one of the joint customers as applying to all of the joint accountholders, unless you tell us otherwise.
We will process your request as quickly as we reasonably can.
You will continue to receive marketing materials in statements, CD notices, and other periodic mailings. We may also continue to contact you by telephone, letter or e-mail to service your existing account or to make you aware of issues affecting your account.

How to Change Your Privacy Options
You have choices as to how we use and share your credit-related information, how we share information with subsidiaries for marketing purposes and how we contact you for marketing purposes.
If you are satisfied with the way in which we currently handle your information, you do not need to take any action. If you have already shared your privacy preferences with us, it is not necessary to contact us again. We will continue to honor your preferences until you tell us otherwise.
To request that we not share credit-related information; share information with our subsidiaries for marketing purposes; and/or contact you for marketing purposes, you may:

If you decide to close your account(s) with us, we will continue to treat the information we have collected about you in accordance with the privacy practices described in this notice.

Employee Access
An important part of our employee orientation and training program is the emphasis we place on customer confidentiality. All of our employees are aware of their responsibility with respect to customer information.

Accuracy of Your Information
We are committed to maintaining complete and accurate information about our customers.
If you think any information we have about you or your account(s) may be incomplete or inaccurate, please notify us immediately. We will take prompt action to investigate your concerns, to make the appropriate corrections, and to notify anyone with whom we may have shared inaccurate information.
If you believe we have incorrectly reported information about your account to any credit reporting agency, please let us know in writing.
Your notice should include your complete name, current address, Social Security Number, telephone number, account number, type of account, the company you believe incorrectly reported the information, the specific item of dispute and the reason you believe the information is wrong.
